Well, we come to the end of another yeah, and my slow march into obscurity continues as planned. Though I never had a high output, this year felt more sparse than usual, but I feel a little happier with what I did publish.  That said, this is not really about what works I am most proud of, but more about the ones that you, the reader, responded to.  The is sorted by Favourites, with view numbers used if I need any tie-breakers.  Anyway, on to the results:

1. Can't Be Helped - A Nalen Kara TaleIt was meant to be a routine journey for Nalen Abayo Kara, warden of the infamous Devil's Gullet.  A two day journey via luxury carriage to the city Kenxia, where she would take custody of a handful of captured criminals from the city's justicars.  But the trip had taken a turn for the worst when she decided to stop for the night at a supposedly reputable inn, and instead of sleeping soundly in a comfortable bed, Nalen found herself gagged, blindfolded and strapped to a sturdy chair.  It was an infuriating situation, and the warden had made up her mind to complain to the management of the inn. Once she had regained the ability to verbally complain, of course.
Nalen fumed silently.  She had been preparing for bed in the inn's most luxurious suite when she had been bushwhacked, taken by surprise when she least expected it.  She had stripped off her bright red military jacket and had unbuttoned her white silken blouse when there had been a knock at the door.

This short piece was part of a competition run by Skelebomb, where he presented a series of pictures featuring his warden Nalen Kara and asked for stories inspired by the pictures. As I did with a lot of stories this year, I went with a more goofy tone, and I think it paid off.  So did Skelebomb apparently, since I got a bonus prize for my entry.

2. The Derketo Danger - A Conan Exiles DiD Tale
The Exiled Lands were not the most hospitable of environments, a small isolated continent that was home to vast sweltering deserts, predator filled jungles, and even windswept snowy highlands.  Every animal seemed aggressive beyond reason, ready to devour the weary explorer if hunger, heat or thirst failed to get them first. There was a reason the Exiled Lands had became a dumping ground for brigands, pirates, cultists and various other unfortunates those in power would rather see gone.  But even in all this hostility, communities would form, as survivors banded together in hopes that a shared burden and strength of numbers would pull them through the worst.  And some of these communities would thrive, much like the Oasis of Karn, a small city that had grew up in the western savannah of the Exile Lands.
And it was the Oasis that brought Aisha to the region, a harbour of relative safety after a long trek of exploring the Exiled Lands in search of lost treasures.  A t

Inspired by the videogame Conan: Exiles, I crafted this story to feature my avatar from the game, Aisha the Kushite.  I am torn by this story, I think its got some of best writing, but the plot is a bit of a mess, mostly due Aisha being pretty inconsequential to the story going on.  I am still happy with the characterizations of Aisha, Hekate and Sulyn, and it was one of my most popular works (I suspect the Skelebomb art attached to it helped boost the numbers).

3. Rebel Target - A Cara Dune Misadventure
(THIS STORY CONTAINS BONDAGE THEMES AND DAMSEL IN DISTRESS ELEMENTS. READER DISCRETION IS ADVISED.)
The sun was setting over Raider's Cove, the small but bustling pirate marketplace located on the tropical outer rim world of Rishi.  Built upon a series of small islands, the sanctuary was a collection of platforms and walkways cobbled together over the centuries from native woods, pre-fab building materials and salvage from crashed or abandoned starships.  It had never been as popular as other outlaw strongholds, it was too small and isolated to attract major crime syndicates like more populated planets would, but by the same token its remoteness had left it more or less untouched by the Galactic Empire that had ruled the galaxy until its fall just five years ago, and was equally ignored by the New Republic that was rising in the Empire's place.  That made Rishi, and Raider's Cove in particular, a good place to disappear to if you wanted to escape from the galaxy at large

Based on the character from The Mandalorian, I knew I'd probably do a Cara Dune story when the first pictures of Gina Carano in costume were release.  It is not often you get a character like her in Star Wars, and her performance in the series gave me a bit to work with.  I think this story worked pretty well, and got to drop some SWTOR references, just like the true nerd I am.

4. Catch of the DayLucy Luckless sat in her small sloop, muttering to herself as she sat on the bow fishing for her dinner.  She had come to the lake with big dreams; she had rumours of strange creatures living in the lake, and armed with a waterproof camera, a scuba suit and a tenacity to succeed, she had hoped to become world famous by capturing a water-based cryptid on film.  But instead of fame and fortune, she had discovered that the rumours of the lake's magical properties had been greatly exaggerated, and she had soon run out of money and hope in short order.  Not even able to afford a hot meal, Lucy had taken to fishing to feed herself, all the way growing more and more bitter at her bad luck.
As she cast her line again, Lucy let out a big sigh and grumpily looked over the calm, glassy surface of the lake.  It was pretty its own way, but also taunting, hinting at so much hidden beneath the surface yet yielding nothing.  And that included fish; Lucy had not had a bite all

A silly little birthday gift for WagglingMermaid, this fishy tail of a luckless grifter being overwhelmed by a mermaid too eager to be captured was fun to write, and I was happy that people responded to it.  This year was a lot of shots and misses, it was good to present something a little off brand for me that really landed with people.

5. Get Lasha (Or, The Torments of Steve The Goblin)“Steve the Goblin, front and centre!”
Steve the goblin sighed, stood up and approached the desk of Gerald the goblin, his current supervisor at Kidnappers Inc.  Steve had been dreading this meeting, as he did all meetings, as nothing good ever come from meetings.  Meetings led to performance reviews, which led to more meetings, and so on and so on.  So as Steve stood before Gerald, he felt both his shoulders and his large ears droop.
“Steve, we need to talk about your performance,” Gerald said in a serious tone.  “Or rather, the lack of it.”
Steve let out a sigh, as this was a sentence he had heard quiet often.  “Sir, I know my last assignment did not goes as plan,” the scrawny young goblin said, trying to not sound too desperate (and failing).  “But I promise you, you haven't seen anything yet.”
“I know, that is the issue,” Gerald said, shaking his big head.  “Steven

Another birthday present, this time for FantasyPencil featuring the unlucky goblin Steve and his Kitty friend (both the creations of AliceJDoodles) being charged with kidnapping Lasha Loudmouth.  A comedy of errors filled with injokes galore, people again seemed to really enjoy it, and I still get a chuckle myself when I peruse its goofiness.

So there we have it, a mixture of other people's characters and media tie-ins. My original characters didn't get much of a look in this year (while I am proud of my Meg and Ebony stories, they seem to have turned off a lot of my regular readers), and my inaction has numbers down quite a bit.  Still, a new year is upon us, maybe well will see the rise of KiwiKink again.  Probably not, but stranger things have happened.

Have a great new year, and I'll see you on the other side Salute Emoticon

Synergy! I got two more requests for 8 character facts, and since both featured smooth skulls it feels kinda appropriate for them to be featured together. Apologies upfront for not doing anything interesting with the lists (check out Lady-Distracto, HelZART and FantasyPencil's pages for some really creative takes on this list thingymajig).

First up, the incomparable erikson1 has requested the Spellbinder herself, Pierce:
Pierce by KiwiKink
1. Pierce is named for her multiple piercings, as she cannot remember her real name.
2. Her baldness is natural, and not a result of shaving her head
3. Though she only interacts with women in Spellbinder, Pierce is pansexual.
4. Though she can seem naive and guileless, Pierce is an extremely good judge of character
5. Pierce is fluent in every spoken language, including some that are officially lost to time
6. Naturally, Pierce is rendered powerless when gagged. To that end, she is studying ventriloquism.
7. Pierce wants tattoos, but they always fade overnight, much to her annoyance.
8. Her true name was more or less revealed in Part 3 of Spellbinder.

And now, as requested by HelZART, who has requested the Sorceress Supreme, Lillian Lightstrom:
Lillian Lightstrom Evolution by KiwiKink
1. Lillian comes from a highly respected family with close ties to the Sapphirian crown.
2. Though she is a famous sorceress, Lillian is an expert fencer.
3. Lillian has little time for frivolous fads, unless they involve pirates.
4. Lillian moved to Virago to get as far away from Malice Blackheart, who she never got over after their teenage romance at Mages College.
5. Lillian was originally going to be a more stuck up character, but her exposure to Karyn and Kaimela loosened her up a bit.
6. Unlike Karyn and Kai, Lillian definitely does not like being tied up under any circumstances.
7. Lillian's losing her magic and becoming a vampire was originally to set her up as the ultimate villain for Karyn to confront.
8. Lillian's vampirism was never to be cured, though she'd eventually redeem by becoming the secret mentor to Karyn's daughter, Val Foxfire.

Now I don't tag, but feel free to tag yourself if you wish to participate ;)

Okay, lets do this...

8 facts about Kaimela, as requested by TMC-Art
The Property Line by Skelebomb
1. Kaimela is actually my oldest OC, dating back to the 90s.
2. Her real name Kailandrea Aran, Kaimela Wethrin is an alias that translates to "dreaming rogue" in elven.
3. Though she is is a thief, stealing was always secondary to the thrill of the burglary itself.
4. Kai is technically a switch, though she mostly plays the top in her and Karyn's relationship.
5. Her outwardly bubbly personality hides deep self-doubts.
6. Despite her seemingly amorous attitude, Kai never cheated on Karyn once they started actually dating, despite Karyn allowing for her to do so.
7. She is terrible at bluffing.
8. Kaimela's tendency to "escape somehow" is taken from a line in the Star Wars parody "Thumb Wars".

8 Facts about Beth Steele, as requested by erikson1
1. Beth Steele was originally going to be more of an outlaw, but became an agent of the law in early drafts
2. Beth was never interested in sex in my stories, and would probably be canonically asexual if I was to write her today
3. Beth was raised an orphan, and more or less never had a life outside of the Dominion Security Force, for reasons explained at the end of Steele Forged Part 1
4. I always wanted Beth to meet Karyn.
5. Beth was my first OC to be retired, as I found it hard to come up with space-set plots for her
6. Beth's ZAP (Zero Animation Polarizer) gun came from a weapon that featured in a story in 2000AD, though I cannot remember which one
7. Penelope Maddox (a pun on "Mad Doc") is my favourite Beth Steele villain.
8. Beth's favourite film director is Michaela Bay, something she is ashamed to admit.

8 Facts about Megan "THE MEGALODON" Finn, as requested by FantasyPencil
The Meg by Skelebomb
1. Meg was created in WWE 2k19, a game I have sunk 60 hours into but never actually played (I love a good character creator)
2. Meg's finisher is called Air Jaws (a springboard rainbow cutter)
3. Despite her size, Meg is extremely agile, and uses a lot of high flying moves
4. Much like her namesake suggests, Meg's favourite animals are sharks
5. Megan is multilingual, speaking English, Maori, Japanese and Spanish.
6. Her braided mohawk represents her "dorsal fin."
7. Despite her gimmick, Meg gets seasick.
8. Unlike my other OCs, all Meg's bondage encounters are going to be consensual.

So, I've been tagged by ForestWolfDragon (check them out!) to participate in the 8 Facts thingymajig, with Karyn Strongblood selected as the factoid recipient. So with out further adieu, lets go!

Rules:

1. Post all the rules
2. Post 8 facts about your character
3. [Redacted to protect the innocent]

1. Though Karyn is described barbarian, the original Karyn's D&D class was Monk.
2. Though Karyn and Kaimela became soul mates, the original plan was to be less clear cut, with Princess Lisbeth being the other corner in the love triangle.
3. Karyn and Lillian were also not meant to be good friends, but have a more antagonistic relationship, with each blaming the other for the peril they get into.
4. Karyn was in her mid twenties when her stories began, and is now in her late thirties.
5. Karyn lives in an all woman setting due to limitations to my writing at the time, as adding men made it creepier than I wanted.
6. Despite favouring her fists, Karyn is trained in most melee weapons.
7. Though she opened a guild for young adventurers, she was originally going to open a bar.
8. You may not have noticed this, but Karyn gets tied up a lot.
